Introduction to Windows

This course is designed to teach the students the basic skills necessary to work withcomputers and the fundamental features of Windows XP, including: start and shut down Windows, work with the desktop, the taskbar and icons, move, minimize, maximize and restore windows, change a window’s size and shape, cascade, tile, scroll within and switch between open windows, hide and display a window toolbar and the status baruse the Back and Forward buttons, work with My Computer, using the Control Panel to view storage device properties and copy a diskette, create files and folders, rename, move and copy a folder or file, create and rename a shortcut, delete files, folders and shortcuts, retrieve a deleted object, empty and reconfigure the Recycle Bin and using Windows Explorer
 


Managing Windows

This course is designed to teach the students how to Manage Windows XP and manipulate the Windows XP environment.  Students will learn how to work with files and folders and how to customize Windows XP settings to suit their preferences.

Word Basic

This course is designed to teach the students the basic skills necessary to use the Microsoft Word 2003 software.  Topics covered by this course include exploring Word 2003, using the Office Assistant, basic document skills, spell check and grammar check, working with document views, printing documents, envelopes and labels, applying character, paragraph and document formatting.  The use of styles is covered, as well as setting tabs, indenting paragraphs, and using numbers and bullets in lists.  Students will work with headers and footers, create section breaks and learn how to use online help.



Word Intermediate

In this course, students will learn more advanced features of Word 2003.  Students will learn how to insert dates and symbols into documents, how to work with AutoFormat, and borders and shading.  Students will learn how to insert tables, graphics, charts and diagrams, as well as how to edit them in Word documents.  This course covers how to create newspaper columns, track revisions, use comments, AutoCorrect and AutoText.  Students will also learn to use the Thesaurus and Spell Check tools, how to use outline view and customize Word preferences.  Finally, this course teaches how to manage files and folders, and use Word HTML features.



Word Advanced

In this course, students will learn advanced features of Word 2003.  Students will learn how to use mail merge, and to merge mailing labels.  Students will learn how to sort table data, use formulas in tables, and import data from Excel into Word.    This course covers working with lists, macros, and forms.    Students will learn how to format long documents, create a table of contents and index, how to use bookmarks, use footnotes and endnotes and how to create master documents.  This course covers how to use Microsoft Graph, use advanced layout features, and how to use advanced layout features.  Finally, students will learn how to review documents and work with Web pages and XML.



Excel Basic           

This course is designed to teach the students the basic skills necessary to use the Microsoft Excel 2003 software.  Topics covered by this course include exploring Excel 2003, using the Office Assistant, basic workbook skills, working with ranges, creating simple formulas, and copying and moving data.  Page setup and Printing workbooks are also covered.  Formatting numbers and text, working with columns and rows, formatting cells, and using automatic formatting and styles are also covered in this course. Students will also learn how to use online help.
 
 
Excel Intermediate        

This course is designed to teach the students basic and some more advanced skills necessary to use the Microsoft Excel 2003 software.  Topics covered by this course include using large worksheets, working with multiple worksheets, and managing worksheets.  Students will work with Outlines and HTML files.  Using Paste Special, range names, labels in formulas, other functions will also be covered in this course. Students will create and edit charts, draw an object, use additional effects and objects, and use AutoShapes.  This course also covers managing data and files, and customizing Excel preferences



Excel Advanced    

This course is designed to teach the student the skills necessary for using the database capabilities and to effectively use the financial formulas in the Microsoft Excel 2003 Software.   Topics covered by this course include working with databases, working with the data form, using AutoFilter and advanced filters, importing and exporting data, creating and revising pivot tables, using multiple workbooks, using conditional and custom formats, using templates, working with comments, using worksheet protection, and sharing workbooks.



Access Basic           

This course introduces students to the fundamental elements of Access 2003.  Creating and saving databases, creating and modifying tables, filtering records to locate information, printing data, and creating relationships between tables are covered.  This course also covers creating simple queries, analyzing tables, creating forms, creating reports and accessing online help.



Access Intermediate

This course covers some of the more intermediate level features of Access 2003.  Students will learn how to modify tables and set field properties.  Creating and designing advanced queries, using operators in queries, creating action queries and using advanced query wizards will be covered.  Students will also learn to use advanced database features, use advanced form and report design features, and use various editing tools.



PowerPoint Basic

This course is designed to teach students the basic skills necessary to use the Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 software.  Topics covered by this course include exploring PowerPoint 2003, using the Office Assistant, basic presentation skills, use of the Outline pane, spell check, enhancing presentation text, printing, and formatting and editing text.  Students will be able to create and run a basic slideshow by completing this course.



PowerPoint Advanced

This course is designed to teach students advanced skills in using the Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 software.  Topics covered by this course include enhancing slides, using slide master, inserting tables and charts, importing objects and text, advanced navigation options, and reviewing and publishing presentations. Students will be able to create and run advanced slides shows after completing this course.



Outlook Basic

This course presents students with the basics of Microsoft Outlook 2003. Students will learn how to open and reply to e-mail messages, insert attachments in messages, use the Outlook calendar to schedule appointments and meetings, and use Outlook contacts.



Outlook Advanced

This course teaches the advanced features of Outlook 2003. Students will learn to manage Tasks, work with Outlook Journal and use Notes. Customizing Outlook Today, creating rules, sharing and accessing other users folders, creating forms and working offline are also topics covered in this course.
